Unbeata

Lamination, a well-known process in the glass industry has gotten more attention – not only due to the new sa
fe
ty
standards but also due to the development of new glass products such as smart glass or
display
glass.
LiSEC has combined the best of two technologie
s and created an attractive product portfolio for lamination products.
Through this process LiSEC can provide the perfect match with a
ttractive price for each customer requirement.
S
tudies and further d
evelopments have been conducted to enh
ance process stability always with the focus on quality
and customer advanta
ge. Additional research projects and experience,
achieved through customer requests for complex,
innovative and new products, allows us to also provid
e technology that fits the future.
Having the experience of two differ
ent press technologies allows providing the fastest and most compact lamination
furnace. The quick and easy change of the recipes during the production allows reducing cycle-
time a
nd therefore also
production costs.
The smart control system and the recipe management highly supports the operator in the selection of the right prod
uction
parameters, which
are important for constant high product quality. The training period of the operator is also significant
shortened by
the self-explaining visualization.
Especially the press was built for complex products a
nd high accuracy what allows to laminate ve
ry thin glass or multilayer
to create special bulletproof glasse
s.
The very gentle and accurate press is not only highly important for such complex glass products but also for d
iffe
rent glass
shapes mostly used for sophisticated archite
ctural projects.
It is well known that the future of a
rchitecture glazings draws, especially, on new
low-e coatings and new types of
interlayers. The combination of the LiSEC press and its smart heating system allows to easily handle the future
ch
allenges.
However, complex and special customer pr
oducts include more risk and increase the production costs.
With the LiSEC press this risk can be reduced and profitability can be increased due to higher process sta
bility
.

Semi- to fully automated lamin
ation line
Proven quality meets wide-ranging requirements. The LiSEC PlusLam is a semi-automated and affordable lamination line
and therefor
e very suitable as an entry prod
uct.
The LiSEC PlusLam is a standard line equipped with sophisticated machinery and laminating tech
nology.
This semi-automatic laminated glass line is distinguished by its manual interlayer placement and manual inte
rlayer
trimming. In combination with an accurate high-pressure autoclave, the PlusLam is suitable for the production of all
common composite and laminated safety glass products.
A variety of options in combination with the basis line can increase the automatization level up to a fully automated
lamination line and generates a str
ong and powerful equipment for each production.
Depending on the requirements the P
lusLam can be configured with a 1-Nip or as option with a 2-Nip press,
if higher output is required.

Temperature and pressure process for final bonding of l
aminated glass
The autoclaving process is the last step in the production of laminated glass for th
e final bonding of glass and mostly PVB
or SGP SentryGlas foil is used. The autoclave is e
lectrically heated, and an installe
d fan recirculates the air to achieve
a
uniform temperature distribution in the autoclave. Laminates are typica
lly placed vertically on racks in the autoclave with
adequate spacing betwe
en them.
The quality of this process depends on the right temper
ature, pressure and time according the interla
yer type. The right
settings for the process parameters yield an end product with the required proper
tie
s.
Thicker, large-format laminates require an autoclaving process that differs from that for thinner laminates. Th
icker
lamination products have to be hea
ted and cooled down more slowly to r
educe the stress within the lamination product to
prevent bending, which has a negative impact on the adhesion betwee
n inter
layer and glass.
The entire cycle time depends on th
e machinery equipment, amount of glass, pressure level and tempera
ture curve and can
vary betw
een 2 and 6 hours. A pressure of 10 to 13 bar
is set at a holding temperature of 130 to 145°C.
Cli
matic Cl
ean Room
White room for the assembly of glass and f
oil
at a lamination line
The climatic clean room is necessary to produce laminated gla
ss with PVB or SGP SentryGlas foil with the right moisture
content and assemble the foil dust free between the
gla
sses. The air conditioner and dehumidifier device control the
temperature in the room at 18°C a
nd the humidity at 25%, depending to the interlayer
type. Air filters reduce the particles
in the air. Insulated wall panels reduce the energy
consumption for the cooling of the climatic clean room.
Depending on the configuration of the lamination line and positioning of the foil magazine an one or two storage
climatic clean room is used.

Competence Center for research, production and
training in th
e field of flat glass processing
The new LiSEC Competence Center for re
search, production
and training in the field of flat glass processing was opened
in Hausmening at the end of 2015. It aligns completely with
the LiSEC claim „all.in.one:solutions“. The Competence
Center „GLASTECH“ makes LiSEC the only machine
manufacturer on the ma
rket who profitably processes flat
glass. This operator know-how allows LiSEC to sh
are and
therefore fully
understand their customers‘ problems and
challenges.
The „GLASTECH“, a LiSEC investment of approximately nine
million Euros, accommodates the latest LiSEC technologies
for each step of glass processing – from cutting and e
dge
processing to a sophisticated sheet logistics system to the
production of insulating glass units and laminated safety
glass including tempering. In the GLASTECH, flat glass is
processed under
real life production conditions. The state-
of-the-art plants a
